There is a narration in Dar-e- Qutni , in which it is stated ,
عن محمد بن علي قال ،ان لمهدينا ايتين لم تكونا منذ خلق الله السموات والارض. تنكسف القمر لاول ليلة من رمضان وتنكسف الشمس في النصف منه ولم تكونا منذ خلق الله السموات والارض..(دار قطني باب صلوت الخسوف والكسوف)
Muhammad bin Ali has stated ,
"For our Mahdi , there are two (miraculous) signs which have not taken place (for anyone else) since Allah created the heavens and earth. The moon will be eclipsed on the first night of Ramadhan and the sun in the middle of it (month of Ramadhan ) . And this has never happened since Allah created the heavens and earth." ( Dar-e- Qutni chapt on prayer of lunar and solar eclipse).
There are a number of points to consider in this narration.
1. This is not a hadeeth of the prophet sallallaho alaihe wasallam or a saying of any Sahabi but a saying of Muhammad bin Ali. There are many narrators in books of hadeeth with this name , Muhammad bin Ali. The most famous of them all is Muhammad bin Ali bin Husain bin Ali bin Abi Talib. He was the grandson of Hazrat Husain radhi Allaho anho and the father of Imam Ja'afer al-Sadiq. He is also known as imam Baqir, the 5th of the 12 , shias regard as the infallible imams. Shia books are filled with narrations from him and his son , Imam Ja'afer rahimahumullah. He was a senior amongst tabi'een who saw many sahaabah. Imam Abu Hanifah rahimahullah also met him and benefitted from his company.
2. Muhammad bin Ali who made this statement could be Imam Baqir or he could be one of the many other Muhammad bin Ali who lived at the same time.
3. If this statement is taken to be true, then the year in which the Mahdi will appear, there will be a lunar eclipse on the first night of Ramadhan and a solar eclipse in the middle, that is the fifteenth of Ramadhan.
4. The lunar and solar eclipses mentioned in this narration are of such a miraculous nature that such eclipses have NEVER taken place before in the entire history of creation because the lunar and solar eclipses simply do not and cannot occur in these dates for reasons given below and if they did occur in these days, then and only then are they miraculous and extraordinary otherwise any eclipse in the regular and expected dates is of no special significance and only an ordinary and regular occurrence.
Solar Eclipse- This occurs when the sun , the moon and earth are in a straight line and the moon is in a line between the sun and earth and eclipses the sun.

Such solar eclipses occur towards the end of the lunar orbit as the moon orbits the earth and hence occur around 27, 28 or 29th of the lunar month. A solar eclipse CANNOT and has never occurred on any other lunar date as it is simply not possible.
Lunar Eclipse- This occurs as the moon orbits around the earth and alligns itself in a straight line with the sun and earth, with the earth getting in between to eclipse the moon from the sun.

This occurance is only possible in middle of the lunar cycle around the 13, 14 and 15th of the lunar month and CANNOT occur at any other time.
Usually lunar and solar eclipses occur randomly but at the rightful position in the lunar orbit. A lunar and a solar eclipse in the same month is also not a rare occurrence . Not only are lunar and solar eclipses possible in the same month, it has also been proven that every 46 years an exactly identical eclipse takes place to the previous one; but still in the appropriate dates.
However according to the narration, if it proves to be true, the eclipses will not be in the usual but impossible dates; lunar eclipse occuring on the 1st instead of the 13, 14th or 15th and a solar eclipse occuring on the 15th instead of the 27th , 28th or 29th of the lunar month AND THIS HAS NEVER OCCURRED BEFORE.
In 1894 , there was a lunar eclipse in the 14th night (Not 15) of Ramadhan and a solar eclipse on the 28th of the same month. An identical pair of eclipses had also occurred 46 years earlier in the year 1848 so it was not a unique occurrence.
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani seized on this opportunity and laid claim to these eclipses being a confirmation and heavenly signs of his Mahdiyyat (Promised Mahdi) and boasted that,
"For Rasoolullah (sallallaho alaihe wasallam), only the moon was split but for me the moon and the sun have testified (that he is the mahdi -Naoozubillah)."
Instead of being signs of divine ordainment, those respective eclipses proved to be another GREAT LIE from the many of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani.
