Alam Kabab

Ghulam Ahmad had a follower called 'Mian Manzur Muhammad' - who was also known as 'Pir Manzur Muhammad'. Manzur was married to a woman named Muhammadi Begum, (not the confused for the daughter of Ahmad Baig) and they had 2 daughters together. In 1906 she fell pregnant a third time and during the pregnancy she became the subject of  Ghulam Ahmad's 'revelations' and prophecies:

February 19, 1906, Ghulam Ahmad had the following dream:

"I saw (in my dream) that a son was born to Manzur Muhammad and he asked what name should be given him. Then my mind moved from the dream towards the reception of revelation and I was informed:

Bashirud-Daulah

The Promised Messiah [as] said: I supplicate for a large number of people and do not know to whom the word Manzur Muhammad refers. It might be that the word indicates that a son would be born to Miyań Manzur Muhammad whose birth might bring with it prosperity and wealth; or it might be that the boy himself might rise high and be wealthy. But I cannot say for certain when that boy would be born. God has not specified any time. It might be soon or Allah the Almighty may delay it for several years." - Tadkhirah p825

He dreamt of a boy named 'Bashirud-Daulah' who would be born to 'Manzur Muhammad', although at that point he was unsure if the person in the dream was Pir Manzur.

- June 7, 1906, Ghulam Ahmad would receive revelation which would confirmed 'Bashirud-Daulah' would born to Pir Manzur and Muhammadi Begum. Further names for the boy were also given:

"It has been conveyed to me by revelation that in the family of Miyań Manzur Muhammad, that is to Muhammadi Begum, a son will be born, who will have two names:
(1) Bashirud-Daulah
(2) ‘Alam Kabab
Both of these names were revealed to me. Both of these names were revealed to me. My interpretation and understanding concerning these is as follows:
(1) Bashirud-Daulah means that he would be a good augury for our glory and prosperity. After his birth (or after his achieving his discretion), the prophecy concerning the great "earthquake and other prophecies will be fulfilled and a large number of people will turn to us and a great victory will be achieved.
(2) ‘Alam Kabab means that within a few months of his birth, or before he achieves his discretion, the world would be overtaken by a great calamity as if it was coming to an end. That is why that boy has been named ‘Alam Kabab. In short, this boy will be called Bashir-ud-Daulah as he will be a Sign of our glory and prosperity and he will be ‘Alam Kabab because he will be an example of the Judgment Day for our opponents." - Tadkhirah p861-862

Additional names were revealed on the same day as well as connecting the birth of this boy to an English revelation (A word and two girls) which he had received earlier that year:

"Thereafter, it has been conveyed to me that this boy has two other names also: (1) Shadi Khan, as he will be a token of joy for this Community and (2) Kalimatullah Khan, because he will be a word of God. It has been so appointed from the beginning and will be fulfilled in this age. It is ordained that God will keep the mother of this boy alive till this prophecy is fulfilled. A previous revelation: [English] A word and two girls ; refers to the same prophecy.. Miyań Manzur Muhammad has two daughters and when the Kalimatullah will be born then the prophecy A word and two girls would be fulfilled." - Tadkirah p862

 - June 19, 1906, even more names were given for the boy:

"The names of the son of Miyań Manzur Muhammad, who will be a Sign, have been conveyed by revelation of Allah are as follows:

(1) Kalimatul-‘Aziz (2) Kalimatullah Khan (3) [English] Word (4) Bashirud-Daulah (5) Shadi Khan (6) ‘Alam Kabab (7) Nasirud-Din (8) Fatehud-Din (9) [Arabic] [This is a blessed day.]" - Tadkhirah p866-867

July 17, 1906. Just under a month after Ghulam Ahmad revealed multiple names for a boy, Muhammadi Begum gave birth to her third daughter:

"Earlier, I had received the divine revelation that the earthquake that will be an example of the Judgment Day was imminent. The Sign appointed for it was that Muhammadi Begum, the wife of Pir Manzur Muhammad Ludhianavi will give birth to a son..
..Thereafter, I prayed that the appearance of this severe earthquake may be delayed somewhat. The revelation from Allah the Almighty mentions that supplication and then provides the response to it. As He has said:
That is, Allah has accepted this supplication and has postponed the earthquake to another time. This revelation was published in Badr and al-Hakam about four months ago. Since the earthquake—the example of Judgment Day—has been delayed, it was also necessary that the birth of the boy be also delayed. Accordingly, a daughter was born to Pir Manzur Muhammad on Tuesday, July 17, 1906." Tadkhirah p900 - 901
After the birth of a girl, he was still hopeful of the couple having the prophesied boy with multiple names:

"In this respect Allah the Almighty has revealed to me that as happened during the time of Prophet Isaiah, that in accordance with the prophecy of that prophet, a woman named Alma bore a son. Afterwards the king Hezekiah gained victory over Pekah**. Similarly, before the earthquake, the wife of Pir Manzur Muhammad Ludhianavi whose name is Muhammadi Begum, will bear a son. That boy will be a precursor of the major earthquake which will be an example of the Day of Judgment. It is necessary that prior to that, minor earthquakes should take place. The boy will have the names as detailed below:
Bashirud-Daulah—because he will be Sign of our victory; Kalimatullah Khan—that is, the Word of the Almighty Allah; ‘Alam Kabab; Word; Shadi Khan; Kalimatul-‘Aziz—because he would be the Word of God that will bring victory for the truth. All creation is the words of God. Therefore, naming someone Kalimatullah is not something unusual. That boy has not been born this time because Allah the Almighty has said:
That is: The earthquake that will be an example of Judgment Day has been postponed." - Tadkhirah p906

October 9, 1908, Muhammadi Begum eventually died on without giving birth to any boy:

"Her name was Muhammadi Begum. She finally died on October 9, 1908" - Tadkhirah p1028

Summary

  • At first, Ghulam Ahmad was unsure as to who the 'Manzur Muhammad' was in his dream. This was cleared up through revelation which confirmed the boy would be born to Pir Manzur and Muhammadi Begum.
  • The couple had 2 girls already and the birth of a boy would fulfil the English revelation 'A word and 2 girls' - In the end there was no word, but 3 girls.
  • New names of boys were being revealed under a month before delivery - whilst she was carrying a girl in her womb.
  • Even after a girl was born, he was still hopeful of the birth of the boy.
  • He claimed it was ordained she stay alive till the fulfilment of this prophecy of this boy - she would died a few months after him and without ever giving birth to any boys.
  • Predicting earthquakes and gender of babies were both outside the remit of Ghulam Ahmad and he was humiliated greatly with both prophecies.

  2. It is nothing but a Jahli exertion of a Jahl of the age. The truth lies in the citation, "The Promised Messiah [as] said: I supplicate for a large number of people and do not know to whom the word Manzur Muhammad refers." Stop to lie and hypocrisy in the name of Allah. You are gotng to arrested by Allah for your crime against Allah and His Promised Messiah and Mahdi Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani (as) of this age.

  3. It is is an established practice of God Almighty that He does not suffer His Creatures without first sending a warning unto them [Quran 5:40] so as to afford the transgressors an opportunity to repent and make amends. If they heed to these warnings and consequently, repent and reform, the Most Forgiving and Merciful Lord looks upon them with mercy in accordance with His promise:

“Whoso repents after his transgression and reforms, God will surely turn to him in mercy; verily, God is Most Forgiving and Merciful” [Al Quran 6:132/134]

  4. The anti-Ahmadi groups may continue to deny the fulfilment of the prophecy but historical records show that the family which had to bear the brunt of God’s wrath was itself thoroughly convinced, that Hazrat Ahmad’s prophecy about them had been fulfilled to the extent of God Almighty’s will. Hence, Mirza Ishaq Beg, son of Muhammadi Begum, admitted his grandfather’s ignoble death and stated:

“My grandfather, Mirza Ahmad Beg died as a result of the prophecy and the rest of the family became frightened and hence reformed themselves. An undeniable proof of this is that most of them joined Ahmadiyyat.”[Al Fazal: 26th February, 1923]

Do the anti-Ahmadi groups claim to know more about the fulfilment of this prophecy than those who were directly concerned with it and who witnessed every phase of its fulfilment?

Mirza Sultan Muhammad, the husband of Muhammadi Begum, gave evidence of his goodwill towards Hazrat Ahmad of Qadian. I posses a camera photocopy of Mirza Sultan Muhammad’s hand written letter with the following declaration:

“I have always, and still consider the late Mirza Saheb, a righteous and respected person who was a servant of Islam; who had a noble spirit and who was constant in his remembrance of God. I entertain no opposition to his followers and regret that for certain reasons, I was not able to have the honour of meeting him during his lifetime.” [Tashizul Azhan: May 1913]

This recorded testimony bears witness that Mirza Sultan Muhammad was also convinced that Hazrat Ahmad’s prophecy had been fulfilled to the extent of God Almighty’s will. In fact, in a interview, the details of which are published during Mirza Sultan Muhammad’s lifetime, he stated:

“At the time of the prophecy, the Arya Hindus, because of Lekh Ram and the Christians, because of Athim offered me a hundred thousand rupees to file a case against Mirza Saheb. If I had taken the amount I would have become rich but it was my great faith in him that prevented me from doing so.” [Al Fazl: 9th June 1921]

This statement by Mirza Sultan Muhammad, published in columns of the Al Fazl also indicates that Mirza Sultan Muhammad was thoroughly convinced of the truth of Hazrat Ahmad’s claims – a fact verified by his other declaration:

“I declare on oath that I have such firm faith in Hazrat Mirza Saheb which I think even you, who profess to be his followers, cannot claim” [Ibid]

However, Mirza Sultan Muhammad was not the only person who believed that Hazrat Ahmad’s prophecy against Muhammadi Begum’s family had been fulfilled in the spirit in which it had been decreed by God Almighty.

Maulvi Muhammad Hussain Batalvi, the then leader of the Ahle Hadith Jamaat in India, held in high regard by most anti Ahmadiyya Muslim organisations, was a committed opponent of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. He personally witnessed the entire controversy between Hazrat Ahmad and Muhammadi Begum’s family and he was also thoroughly aware of the prophecy pronounced against these people.

Yet despite the fact that he considered it his ‘duty to bring Hazrat Ahmad’s fame to dust, a mission to which he had vowed himself,’ [Ishaatus Sunnah] Maulvi Muhammad Hussain Batalvi witnessed the ignoble fate of Mirza Ahmad Beg and stated:

“though the prophecy was fulfilled, yet it was due to astrology” [Ishaatus Sunnah, Vol V]
