Prophecies

Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani issued numerous prophecies throughout his career. Along with issuing prophecies, he also highlighted the importance and significance of them:

"Badh khayal logo ko ye wazih ho ke hamara sidq ya kizb janchnay ke liye hamari paishgoi se barh kar or koi mohik imtihan nahi ho sakta."

Translation:
"Let it be known to ill-thinking persons that to judge my truthfulness or falsehood there cannot be any better touchstone than my prophecy."

"Insan ka apni paishgoi mai jhoota nikalna khud tamam ruswaiyo se barh kar ruswai hai."

"For any person, to be shown false by his own prophecy is, by itself, the biggest disgrace of all disgraces."

"If out of 100 prophecies, even one of my prophecies turns out to be wrong, I will admit I am a liar."

Conclusion

When you put these statements together, it becomes clear that Ghulam Ahmad essentially backed himself into a corner. He didn't leave any wiggle room for his followers to make excuses or move the goalposts later on. By his own incredibly strict standard, you don't need to engage in deep theological debates to figure out if he was telling the truth. He handed his critics the exact measuring stick to judge him by: his prophecies.

He explicitly shut down the idea that a true prophet's words can be delayed, and he put his entire claim on the line by stating that even a single failed prophecy out of a hundred makes him a liar. The benchmark is set in black and white. All that is left to do is take a hard look at his historical track record, apply the very criteria he laid out, and see if he actually passes his own test.
